This outdoor living area was developed as a request from our client for a swimming pool and seating spaces. Due to grade changes, a raised swimming pool and terrace were designed. Terrace meets grade at the house and then requires steps to access the lower lawn area. Natural stone was used to face all elevated walls and step risers. Full range flagstone was selected as walkways, terrace surface, and pool deck. At a request from the homeowner, a curved edge at the pool deck allowed for the crape myrtle allée with a hedge of plum yew. The garden is full of boxwood, rose, hydrangea, liriope, seasonal color, and planters. Large evergreens of green giant arborvitae, magnolia, and skip laurel provide the privacy that this intimate garden deserves. Entry walkway from driveway provides egress through lush plantings as visitors, friends, and family are led to this private outdoor entertainment space.
